Black-Sea Turbot or Kalkan (Scophthalmus maeoticus) is a fish species in the family Scophthalmidae. Widespread in the Black Sea.[1] Usually consider as a subspecies of the Turbot, Scophthalmus maximus, which is common in the Mediterranean Sea.[2] Now the taxonomic status of this species is under discussion.
